Church History & Beliefs

New Hope Baptist Church has faithfully served the Bon Aqua, Tennessee area for 147 years. On October
28, 1872, a few members from the Oak Grove Church of Williamson County and the Knob Creek Church
of Maury County met at the Tidwell School House in the 4 th district of Hickman County and organized the
New Hope Baptist Church that we attend today.

New Hope Baptist is a cooperating member of the
JSTBA, the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Pastor Nathan Wilkerson

• Bro. Nathan Wilkerson was saved in 1982 and surrendered to the call to preach the Gospel on June 21, 1991, at the age of 15. He was ordained as a minister in 1998 at the Round Lick Baptist Church in
Watertown, Tennessee. He has served 5 different churches as either the Senior Pastor or Associate Pastor spanning the last 23 years. He began at New Hope in March of 2019.

• He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Covington Theological Seminary in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia.

• He has been married to his wife Jennifer for 19 years, and they are blessed with 2 sons, Andrew (16) and Aaron (12).
